The CID Special Investigations Section (SIS) is responsible for the overall direction of the state's investigative efforts targeting the disruption and dismantling of criminal organizations involved in violent crime, property crime, fraud, and illicit gaming. SIS also manages the fugitive, Ten Most Wanted, sex offender compliance, civil commitment, and regulatory investigation programs; works closely with the Texas Racing Commission regarding pari-mutuel racing investigations and compliance; conducts background investigations for the Texas Racing Commission, Texas Lottery Commission, and the Office of the Governor; and receives and evaluates case referrals from outside agencies to determine investigative value for dissemination to CID field personnel.
