AUSTIN – Hundreds of toys are now heading to children in Austin and surrounding areas in hopes of making their holidays a bit brighter. This week, employees from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) dropped off toys for 438 children as part of this year’s Gift Drive for Children in Foster Care. The annual drive is put together by the Governor’s Commission for Women and the State Agency Council.

May 28, 2020- AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is offering extended office hours at participating driver license (DL) offices across the state, beginning in 2021.

- TYLER – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is asking for the public’s help in the investigation of a fatal hit-and-run crash that resulted in the death of a Steven Lynn Chambless on SH 198 near Van Zandt County Road 2435. The crash occurred on Saturday, November 28 at approximately 7:30 p.m.
