If you hold a Texas driver license or identification card, you may now voluntarily register or update your emergency contact information online with the Department. You may update the emergency contact information only or as part of a renewal, replacement or change of address transaction.
If you are under 18 years of age, you must update your emergency contact information at your local driver license office and be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Your emergency contact information, which is not printed on your driver license or identification card, is only provided to law enforcement personnel to contact a family member or loved one in the event of a collision or medical emergency.
