Special Condition Document Requirements

Note: The following identification requirements apply to all applicants:

  • Applicants born abroad must provide a Lawful Presence document.
  • If you do not have a Texas Driver License (DL) or ID you will be required to submit:
    • Form LTC-6 with a signature and color "passport-style" photo
    • Copy of your non-expired DL or ID

Active Military

Successfully complete classroom training with a qualified LTC instructor or Online Course Provider (OCP) classroom only. Your LTC instructor will enter your training results into your RSD Connect Account.


Military range scores or proof of firearm training or proficiency as part of active service within the preceding 10 years can be used in place of the proficiency demonstration. 

Fingerprints – LTC Fingerprint Information
  • Current Leave and Earning Statement (LES) within the last 90 days (Preferred) or
  • Current Orders within the last 90 days or
  • Letter from Commanding Officer within the last 90 days or
  • May submit copy of DD-214 stating “Honorable” or “Under Honorable” or “General” discharge within 365 days of separation date and from date of original application in lieu of one of the above supporting documents.

  • Must submit a copy of the DD-214 stating “Honorable” or “Under Honorable” or “General” discharge; OR
    • Copy of the Military ID stating “indef.” or “retired” or “reserve retired”; OR
    • “Honorable Discharge“ Certificate; OR
    • Veterans (VA) letter stating “Honorable”
