Special Condition Document Requirements

Note: The following identification requirements apply to all applicants:

  • Applicants born abroad must provide a Lawful Presence document.
  • If you do not have a Texas Driver License (DL) or ID you will be required to submit:
    • Form LTC-6 with a signature and color "passport-style" photo
    • Copy of your non-expired DL or ID

 

Military

Active Military

LTC-100 or LTC-101 Classroom training only AND Military range scores or proof of firearm training or proficiency as part of their active service within the preceding 10 years can be used in place of the proficiency demonstration, (any firearm qualifies); OR

  • LTC-100 Certificate of Training OR LTC 101 Online Certificate of Training (received from LTC instructor upon course completion)
 Fingerprints – LTC Fingerprint Information
  • Military ID
  • Must submit a copy of one of the following supporting documents:
    • Current Leave and Earning Statement (LES); (Preferred) OR
    • Current Orders; OR
    • Letter from Commanding Officer; OR
    • Applicant may submit  copy of  DD-214 stating “Honorable” or “Under Honorable” or “General” discharge within 365 days of separation date and from date of original application in lieu of one of the above supporting document

Active Texas Military

  • Must submit a copy of the DD-214 stating “Honorable” or  “Under Honorable”  or “General”   discharge; OR
    • Copy of the Military ID stating “indef.” or “retired” or “reserve retired” ;  OR
    • “Honorable Discharge “ Certificate; OR
    • Veterans (VA) letter stating  “Honorable”
