The Texas Department of Public Safety began issuing the newly designed DL/ID cards on August 18, 2025. The previous card design versions were issued for eight-year terms and should be out of circulation September 1, 2033. The oldest card design versions were issued for six-year terms and should be out of circulation by February 24, 2026. Any previous card version should reflect an issuance date within the range of the issuance dates listed and expires according to the expiration date reflected on the card.
