AUSTIN – On this Alamo Day, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) joins Texans in commemorating those who courageously fought for Texas’ independence in the 13-day siege at the Battle of the Alamo. Now, 190 years later, DPS is honored to have the responsibility of overseeing the security of the Alamo Complex in San Antonio – helping ensure the historical site remains a solemn place of remembrance and education for Texans and all who visit.

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) will increase patrols on roads beginning this weekend to ensure safe driving this spring break and St. Patrick’s Day. March 9-17, the Texas Highway Patrol (THP) will conduct its annual Spring Break and St. Patrick’s Day traffic enforcement campaign – looking for people who are speeding, not wearing their seat belts, driving while intoxicated or committing other traffic violations.

DALLAS – On March 3, 2026, at 2:30 p.m., a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Trooper was patrolling on Frankford Rd near the Dallas North Tollway when the Trooper received an automated license plate reader alert of a vehicle whose registered owner had active felony and misdemeanor warrants.

WESLACO – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized more than $83,000 in currency during a recent Operation Lone Star traffic stop in Hidalgo Co.

AUSTIN – Two of Texas’ 10 Most Wanted are back in custody following their recent arrests. Authorities captured Carl Hegert in Houston on Feb. 18, and Brien Keith Coleman in Waco on Feb. 23. A Crime Stoppers reward will not be paid for either of their arrests.

WESLACO – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) arrested a confirmed Gulf Cartel member this week in Starr Co. as part of a joint operation with the United States Border Patrol (USBP) during Operation Lone Star.

AUSTIN – A Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive wanted for murder is back in custody following his recent capture in Mexico. Elijah Turner Reyes, a documented Piru (Bloods) gang member from El Paso, was detained by Mexican authorities and brought back to the United States late last week. A Crime Stoppers reward will be paid for his arrest.

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) announces the addition of Jamie Nicholas Wilson – a confirmed Black Gangster Disciple Nations gang member – to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives List. Texas Crime Stoppers is now offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to his arrest. All tips are guaranteed to be anonymous.
