AUSTIN – It is with great sadness that the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) announces the death of a Highway Patrol Trooper following a traffic crash in San Jacinto County.

DPS Launches Keeping Texas Roads Safe Public Service Announcement

AUSTIN – Today, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) launched part two of its 90 Days of Safety campaign: Keeping Texas Roads Safe. DPS Graduates 104 New Texas State Troopers

AUSTIN – Today, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) welcomed 104 new Texas Highway Patrol Troopers from recruit Class B-2025 during a graduation ceremony at Great Hills Baptist Church in Austin. This is the department’s 179th graduating class.

Texas Rangers, Beaumont Police Arrest Serial Rapist in Jefferson Co.

AUSTIN – The man responsible for raping at least four women between 2018 and 2024 is in custody following a joint investigation by the Texas Rangers and the Beaumont Police Department. Eric J. Gipson Sr., 40, of Beaumont, was indicted for his crimes by a Jefferson Co. jury on Aug. 20.

Honduran Felon Named Featured Fugitive for September

AUSTIN – Texas 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrant Robert Bustrillo-Vasquiez — a violent felon with multiple deportations — is this month’s Featured Fugitive. The reward for information leading to his arrest is increased to $6,000 during September if the tip is received this month.
