The objective of the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) program is to produce accurate crime statistics for law enforcement administration, operation, and management.
As of September 1, 2023, House Bill 4879 went into effect mandating all Texas criminal justice agencies to implement a National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) compliant Records Management System (RMS) and to submit monthly NIBRS data to the Texas Department of Public Safety UCR Program.
