As the heat continues across Texas, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) urges everyone to take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and their loved ones from the dangers of extreme heat in order to have a safe, healthy summer.

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) announces the promotion of Bruce James to Assistant Chief of the Texas Highway Patrol (THP). This promotion is a result of the retirement of Assistant Chief Justin Chrane who served the department for nearly 30 years.  

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) announces two of Texas’ 10 Most Wanted offenders are back in custody following their recent arrests. Authorities arrested Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive Perci Newman on June 4 and Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender Louis Keeton on June 6.
