Victoria Driver License Office Moving Back to Original Location

July 23, 2018

VICTORIA – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Victoria Driver License Office, currently located on Leary Lane, will be closed Friday, July 27, to facilitate the move back to the original location, which was closed after sustaining damage from Hurricane Harvey. The original driver license (DL) office (located at 8802 N. Navarro, Victoria, TX 77901) is expected to reopen to the public at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 30.

DPS continues to stress that statewide most customers who are eligible to conduct transactions online, by phone or by mail are still going into an office. Prior to coming to the office, call 1-866-DL-RENEW (1-866-357-3639) or check online to determine if your transaction — including the renewal of a Texas DL or identification (ID) card or an address change — can actually be handled online, by phone or by mail. By doing so, eligible customers can skip the trip to a DL office altogether and, in turn, decrease transaction times for customers required to go into an office. The eligibility requirements for phone renewal and online renewal are the same. The fee is the same for online, in-person and telephone renewals.

Important reminder: Customers may renew their Driver License/Texas ID card two years prior to their expiration date, which allows them to choose a convenient time that fits their schedule and avoid the busiest times at the DL office. Renewing early does not impact the original expiration date.
