AMARILLO – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized 117 pounds of marijuana Wednesday, after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle in Oldham County.
At approximately 7:57 a.m., a DPS Trooper stopped a 2018 Nissan Altima traveling east on I-40 near Vega for a traffic violation. The Trooper then discovered multiple plastic-wrapped packages of marijuana in the trunk.
The driver – Alex Yu, 32, of Chicago, Illinois – was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana. Yu was transported and booked into the Oldham County Jail.
The drugs allegedly were being transported from an unknown location to Fort Worth, Texas.
