AMARILLO – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized more than 118 pounds of marijuana Friday, September 28, after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle in Oldham County. 

At approximately 5:40 p.m., a DPS Trooper stopped a 2018 Dodge Caravan traveling east on I-40 near Vega for a traffic violation. The Trooper then discovered multiple vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana in luggage.

The driver, Frank Williams, 50, of Austin, Texas was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana. Williams was transported and booked into the Oldham County Jail.

The drugs allegedly were being transported from California to Dallas, Texas.
