DPS Traffic Stop Leads to Marijuana Seizure

AMARILLO – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized 102 pounds of marijuana Saturday, April 13, after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle in Oldham County. 

At approximately 3:11 p.m., a DPS Trooper stopped a 2019 Cadillac XTS east on I-40 near Vega for a traffic violation. The Trooper then discovered multiple large vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana in the trunk.

The driver – Chance Wick, 51, of Burbank California – was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana. Wick was transported and booked into the Oldham County Jail. 

The drugs allegedly were being transported from Burbank, California to Miami, Florida.
