DPS Traffic Stop Leads Drug Seizure in Brazoria County

FREEPORT – A traffic stop by a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Trooper Sunday, November 10, in the City of Clute led to the seizure of several drugs

At approximately 1:00 p.m., an eastbound 2008 Buick passenger vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation on Wesley Road. During the stop, the Trooper observed a clear bag between the driver's seat and the center console containing almost two ounces of marijuana. Later into the investigation, Troopers learned the passenger threw bags of pills under the vehicle – containing approximately 89 grams of hydrocodone, 8 grams of Xanax, and under a gram of cocaine. The driver and passenger were both arrested for misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance. They were also arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance (for possessing the cocaine and hydrocodone). Additionally, the passenger was arrested for tampering with evidence, a felony.

Eric Baker, 25, of Clute, was identified as the driver and Caitlin Kilson, 25, of Humble, was identified as the passenger. Baker and Kilson were transported to the Brazoria County Jail.
