DPS Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Seizure

AMARILLO – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized more than 177 pounds of THC oil and THC wax Thursday, March 28, after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle in Carson County.

At approximately 2:35 p.m., a DPS Trooper stopped a 2000 Nissan Sentra traveling east on I-40 near Conway for a traffic violation. The Trooper then discovered multiple vacuum-sealed bags THC oil and one vacuum-sealed bag of THC wax in the vehicle.

The driver – Luis Gonzalez, 28, of Kansas City, Missouri – was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. Gonzalez was transported and booked into the Carson County Jail.

The drugs allegedly were being transported from Glendale, California to Kansas City, Missouri.
