AMARILLO – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized 101 pounds of marijuana Wednesday, December 18, after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle in Carson County.
At approximately 2:59 p.m., a DPS Trooper stopped a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado traveling east on I-40 near Conway, for a traffic violation. The Trooper then discovered multiple vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana in truck bed.
The driver – Thomas Wimmer, 57, of Clear Water, Florida – was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana. Wimmer was transported and booked into the Carson County Jail.
The drugs allegedly were being transported from Los Angeles, California to Brandon, Florida.
