DPS Traffic Stop Leads to Cash Seizure

AMARILLO – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized more than $118,000 in cash and a small amount of marijuana Sunday, February 17, after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle in Carson County.

At approximately 2:31 p.m., a DPS Trooper stopped a 2006 Land Rover traveling west on I-40 near Conway, for a traffic violation. The Trooper then discovered plastic-wrapped bundles of cash in the spare tire and glove box. A small amount of marijuana was found inside a backpack.

DPS Special Agents were contacted and assisted with the investigation.

The driver – Adam Narain, 30, of Winter Garden, Florida – was arrested and charged with money laundering. Narain was transported and booked into the Carson County jail.

The cash was allegedly being transported from Winter Garden, Florida to California.
