Manuel Galindo
AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is seeking the public's help in solving the 1992 murder of Manuel Galindo, 19, in Midland. As part of a DPS public awareness program, one unsolved case is featured each month by the Texas Rangers Unsolved Crimes Investigation Team in an effort to generate new investigative leads and bring added attention to unresolved or "cold cases" across the state.
On January 19, 1992, Galindo was at home with friends when he received a call from his brother asking for a ride. Galindo and his friends went to the Dog House Lounge (now closed) to pick up the brother. While Galindo was at the bar, a fight broke out between a group of Hispanic males and spilled over into the parking lot of a nearby Al's Grocery Store. During the fight, Manuel was stabbed several times in the chest and later died at a local hospital. The assailant is still unknown.

The Texas Ranger Unsolved Crimes Investigation Team was created to assist Texas law enforcement agencies investigating unsolved murders or what appear to be serial or linked crimes. Since there is no statute of limitations for the offense of murder, investigators pursue these cases to a successful resolution; or until no other lead is viable.
