DPS Discovers Marijuana during Traffic Stop

AMARILLO – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized 100 pounds of marijuana and more than 142 pounds of assorted THC products Thursday, January 10, after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle in Carson County.

At approximately 3:46 p.m., a DPS Trooper stopped a 2018 Dodge Caravan traveling east on I-40 near Conway for a traffic violation. The Trooper then discovered two large duffle bags full of vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana and four boxes containing assorted THC products in the vehicle.

The driver – Aniela Russo of Baltimore, Maryland – and passenger – Nathan Reynolds of Cockeysville, Maryland – were arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana. Russo, 47, and Reynolds, 36, were transported and booked into the Carson County Jail.

The drugs allegedly were being transported from Ontario, California to Baltimore, Maryland.
