DPS Discovers Marijuana during Traffic Stop

AMARILLO – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized 152 pounds of marijuana and 68 pounds of THC products Wednesday, February 20, after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle in Carson County.

At approximately 4:01 p.m., a DPS Trooper stopped a 2018 Dodge Caravan traveling east on I-40 near Conway for a traffic violation. The Trooper then discovered multiple boxes of vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana and THC products in the vehicle.

The driver – Richard Galletti, 53, of Riverside, California – was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana. Galletti was transported and booked into the Carson County Jail.

The drugs allegedly were being transported from Phelan, California to Washington D.C.
