Welcome to the new CJIS Security Awareness Training software, CJIS Online, available to Texas agencies to help meet CJIS Security Awareness Training section 5.2 requirements in the CJIS Security Policy. The CJIS Online application can help agencies without Omnixx/TLETS login access and have a need to meet Security Awareness Training requirements. The CJIS Online application can also optionally replace current Security Awareness Training and recordkeeping methods in Omnixx/TLETS. The CJIS Security Office Technical Audit Team will continue to accept current training documentation proof from acceptable sources such as Omnixx/TLETS, paper lists and methods agencies currently deploy. This new resource should help simplify the many records from multiple sources into one manageable format for the agency.
We recommend starting small by adding the agency’s IT staff and vendor records, individuals who typically do not have sign on credentials to Omnixx/TLETS. Many vendors have been preloaded into the training application. The next step the agency should consider is to add their employees into the CJIS Online training software. Prior Security Awareness Training completed in Omnixx will not transfer over to the CJIS Online software. Consider Omnixx/TLETS user accounts nearing their expiration and add them into CJIS Online at that time.
The agency’s TAC is the main contact to setup training at each agency and will be sent specific login instructions. Below are some documents explaining the overall process, guides and samples to get started with the new CJIS Online training resource.
