Congratulations

Congratulations to the new examiners of Class 35 who graduated from the Texas Department of Public Safety Law Enforcement Polygraph School on November 14, 2025.

Special congratulations also to Class 35 students William Rymer and Ryan Flanigan.  William Rymer was awarded the DPS Director's Award for highest class GPA, and Ryan Flanigan was awarded the School Director's Award for overall outstanding student.  

Application Window

The Texas Department of Public Safety Law Enforcement Policy School is accepting applications for the Fall 2026 Basic Polygraph Examiner Course, scheduled for September 7, 2026.  The application window closes on July 3, 2026.

Tuition

Tuition for the Basic Polygraph Examiner Course is $5,000 per student.  This fee does not include meals or lodging.

Application Process

To be considered for the Basic Polygraph Examiners Course, applicants must:

  • Complete and submit a Texas DPS Polygraph School Application;
  • Be a US citizen;
  • Have no convictions for a felony offense or a misdemeanor offense of moral turpitude;
  • Be a full-time employee of the law enforcement agency sponsoring the student; and
  • Have at least five years of law enforcement investigative experience or a four-year degree from a university.
