Honoring 90 Years of DPS History

On August 10, 1935, the Texas legislature created the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) by combining the Texas Rangers and the Texas Highway Patrol. For 90 years, it has been the department’s mission to protect and serve the great state of Texas and the people who call it home. Join us as we celebrate 90 years of DPS — and commemorate our past, honor our present and look towards a bright future.
