The Department entered into a contract with a third party vendor to facilitate fingerprint capture and submission to the Department. This project is called FAST or Fingerprint Applicant Services of Texas. As a part of the awarded contract, this third party vendor is required to provide a FAST location throughout the state to ensure statewide coverage. Statewide coverage is defined as 90% of the customer base residing within 25 miles direct travel distance of a FAST location and 100% of the customer base residing within 50 miles direct travel distance of a FAST location.
