I had an appointment at the DPS office at 6121 N. Lamar in Austin to replace my CA driver license with a TX license. Being a 74-year-old new transplant from Los Angeles where the DMV is not known for good customer service, I was prepared for a long wait and a less-than-helpful attitude. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised! I’d brought my documents to prove my identity and residency, and Sheila Bunch was extraordinarily helpful, professional, and friendly in helping me sort through all. She exemplifies what all public employees everywhere should aim for. I truly thank Sheila and DPS for making this appointment smooth and seamless. I’m sure she’s a highly valued employee. I’m very happy to now be licensed to drive in TX, thanks to Sheila’s helpfulness.
