I just want to take a moment and commend Officer Cory Davis for his help on Wednesday, May 5th. I was in route from Beaumont when I had to make the split second decision to either veer into a passing 18 wheeler in the other lane, or hit the piece of road construction debris on the highway. It totally shredded my front tire. I called for help at 2:05 pm and by 4:00 pm the wrecker had still not arrived. Officer Davis came upon me, and he was wonderful. He got my car to a safer place, and immediately began changing the tire. I told him repeatedly that help was on the way, and just getting it to a safer place was a blessing and that he didn't need to change the tire. He was nearly finished with the job when the "roadside service" person finally arrived. Officer Davis was polite, courteous, helpful, and went way above and beyond. I was very touched and grateful for his assistance and whole demeanor. It so enrages me that all of our law enforcement officers get such negative publicity because of the actions of very few. Please commend Officer Davis for the generous and thoughtful help he provided me.
