Congratulations to the new examiners of Class 32 who graduated from the Texas Department of Public Safety Law Enforcement Polygraph School on November 17, 2023.

Special congratulations also to Class 32 students Dustin Lockridge and Jeannie Gomez.  Dustin Lockridge was awarded the DPS Director's Award for highest class GPA, and Jeannie Gomez was awarded the School Director's Award for overall outstanding student.  Additional congratulations to Mark Handler, who was awarded the Distinguished Faculty Award.

The Basic Polygraph Examiners Course for Class 34 will begin in September 2024.  Applications will continue to be accepted until July 1, 2024.  Submit applications to polygraph@dps.texas.gov.

Application Process

To be considered for the Basic Polygraph Examiners Course, applicants must:

  • Complete and submit a Texas DPS Polygraph School Application;

  • Be a US citizen;

  • Have no convictions for a felony offense or a misdemeanor offense of moral turpitude;

  • Be a full-time employee of the law enforcement agency sponsoring the student; and

  • Have at least five years of law enforcement investigative experience or a four-year degree from a university.
