LAREDO – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) during Operation Lone Star (OLS) arrested a criminal illegal immigrant fugitive in Webb County.

AUSTIN – Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender Michael Scott is this month’s Featured Fugitive. The reward for information leading to his arrest is increased to $4,000 during February if the tip is received this month.

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) announces the arrest of two of Texas’ 10 Most Wanted. Authorities arrested Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive Jrdon Joe—who is also this month’s featured fugitive—on January 28, and Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender Marcos Alonzo on January 18. Crime Stoppers rewards will be paid in both arrests.

LAREDO – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Criminal Investigations Division (CID) and the Texas Highway Patrol (THP) during Operation Lone Star (OLS) recovered 16 illegal immigrants during a traffic stop in Webb County.

AUSTIN – Today, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) captured two more fugitives from Texas’ 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants List. Jorge Dionicio Hernandez and Omar David Zavala were arrested earlier today in Houston and Mesquite, respectively. A Crime Stoppers reward will be paid in Hernandez’s arrest.

AUSTIN – Using modern evidence testing, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Crime Laboratory Division has now identified the man investigators believe is responsible for the decades-old cold case murder of 86-year-old Mary Moore Searight in Paris, Texas.

PLANO – On Jan. 9, 2025, Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Trooper Cody Durham acted quickly to rescue a driver who was trapped inside their burning vehicle after a serious collision on the Dallas Tollway near Spring Creek Parkway.

AUSTIN – This week, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) hosted the 2025 Texas Targeted Violence Prevention and Behavioral Threat Management Conference at the Hilton Palacio del Rio in San Antonio. The three-day conference, which ran Jan. 13 through 15, brought together more than 350 stakeholders from across the country to learn from subject matter experts on mitigating the risks and the prevention of targeted violence and terrorism.

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is seeking information in the 1981 murder of Karen Lynn Douglas. The reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for her death is now increased to $6,000 if the tip is received before the next featured Texas Rangers cold case is announced. Anyone with information in this case is asked to please come forward.
