DPS Announces Multiple Arrests in Clean Scanning Operation

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety’s (DPS) Regulatory Services Division (RSD) continues to work to address illegal activity surrounding fraudulent vehicle inspections known as “clean scanning.” In its most recent enforcement operation, which was conducted in the Houston area this month, 19 warrants were secured for criminal activity related to clean scanning.

AUSTIN – Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive Miguel Gomez is this month’s Featured Fugitive. The reward for information leading to his arrest is now increased to $8,500 during November if the tip is received this month.

MIDLAND – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is seeking information in the 2018 disappearance of Caitlin Denison, 19, of Reno, NV., as there is renewed interest in the case based on new information gathered by the Texas Rangers. Investigators believe the public may have key information to help solve this case.

DPS Honors Heroic Actions and Bravery at October PSC Meeting

AUSTIN – Yesterday, the Public Safety Commission (PSC), along with Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Director Steven McCraw, recognized the service of several Texans at the PSC meeting at DPS Headquarters in Austin. PSC Commissioners and Director McCraw presented one Director’s citation, one Director’s Award, five Lifesaving Awards and one additional recognition.
