Special Agent Anthony Salas

Special Agent Anthony Salas served in the United States Marine Corps before joining DPS. He joined DPS on July 14, 2013, and was commissioned as a Trooper on January 13, 2014. He promoted to Special Agent on May 15, 2019, and was stationed in El Paso, TX.
On January 22, 2022, Special Agent Salas died in the line of duty as a result of a vehicle accident while working in conjunction with the US Border Patrol while supporting Operation Lone Star.
He is survived by his parents, wife, and his three children. He is the 226th DPS officer to die in the line of duty since 1823.
