Special Agent Dustin Slovacek

Special Agent Dustin Slovacek served in the United States Marine Corps before joining DPS. He joined DPS on January 21, 2007, and was commissioned as a Trooper on August 3, 2007. He promoted to Special Agent on December 1, 2019, and was stationed in Victoria, TX.
On September 12, 2021, Special Agent Slovacek died in the line of duty as a result of COVID-19 complications he contracted while supporting Operation Lone Star.
He is survived by his parents, brother, and daughter. He is the 225th DPS officer to die in the line of duty since 1823.
