Santos RAMIREZ, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive, was captured on March 16, 2023, in Mabank, Texas. Members of the U.S. Marshals Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force, including DPS Special Agents, TDCJ-OIG, Smith County Sheriff’s Office, Tyler Police Department, and the Texas Attorney General’s Office, located and arrested RAMIREZ. Texas DPS Highway Patrol and Henderson County Sheriff’s Office also assisted in the multi-agency fugitive investigation.In 1996, RAMIREZ was convicted of Aggravated Assault and sentenced to five years of confinement. In 2004, he was convicted of Aggravated Assault again and sentenced to ten years of confinement and ten years of probation.RAMIREZ had been wanted since April 5, 2022, after the Midland County Sheriff’s Office issued warrant for his arrest for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child, Continuous Violence Against the Family, Stalking, two counts of Violation of Bond/Protective Order, Interference with Emergency Request for Assistance, and Failure to Identify.RAMIREZ's arrest was the result of tip information received through Texas Crime Stoppers and a reward was paid.
