Joseph BURTON, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive affiliated with the Gangster Disciples gang, was captured on May 2, 2022, in Houston, Texas. Following an attempt to evade in a motor vehicle, BURTON was located and arrested by Houston Police Department and Sugar Land Police Department officers.In 2017, he was given two sentences of two years' confinement after convictions for Theft of Property and Forgery. In 2020, he was convicted of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and sentenced to an additional two years' confinement. He was released on parole in April 2021. One month later, he was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and subsequently bonded out.BURTON had been wanted since September 17, 2021, after the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office issued warrants for his arrest for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Additionally, on October 1, 2021, the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles issued a warrant for his arrest for Parole Violation.BURTON’s arrest was not from tip information received through Crime Stoppers, so no reward will be paid.
