CAPTURE DETAILS:

Edward DE LOS SANTOS, affiliated with the Tango Blast gang, was captured on September 22, 2021 in Austin, Texas. Working off tip information, members of the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, including DPS Special Agents and officers from the Austin Police Department (APD), located and arrested DE LOS SANTOS at a hotel in south Austin. In the late 1990s, DE LOS SANTOS was convicted of two counts of Aggravated Assault and three counts of Burglary of a Habitation. In 2009, DE LOS SANTOS was convicted of Aggravated Robbery with a Deadly Weapon and sentenced to 5 years’ confinement. In 2014, he was convicted of Aggravated Assault and sentenced to 3 years’ confinement. DE LOS SANTOS had been wanted since September 15, 2020, after the Travis County Sheriff’s Office issued two felony warrants for his arrest for Continuous Violence Against the Family and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Additionally, APD had issued two felony warrants for his arrest for Assault with Injury and Evading Arrest/Detention with Vehicle. DE LOS SANTOS’ arrest was the result of tip information received through Texas Crime Stoppers and a reward was paid.
