CAPTURE DETAILS:

Pete Jerry LUNA, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender, was captured on April 4, 2019, in Port Lavaca, Texas. Working off investigative information received from members of the USMS Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force, including DPS Special Agents, the USMS Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Fugitive Task Force – Victoria Division, apprehended LUNA following a traffic stop conducted by the Victoria PD. The Grayson County District Attorney’s Office, Corsicana PD, and the Navarro County SO also provided assistance in the investigation.In March 1992, LUNA was convicted in Navarro County of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child after an incident involving an 8-year-old girl. He was subsequently sentenced to 10 years in TDCJ prison. LUNA was discharged from TDCJ in 2002 and required to register as a sex offender for life.LUNA had been wanted since March 2018, after the Navarro County SO issued a warrant for his arrest for Sexual Abuse of a Child (Continuous– Victim Under 14). The Corsicana PD also issued a warrant for LUNA’s arrest in October 2018 for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements.The arrest was not from tip information received through Crime Stoppers, so no reward will be paid.
