Jose Luis BERNAL, Jr., a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender, was captured on June 22, 2026, in Schertz, Texas. Working off investigative information, Schertz Police Department Officers, along with members of the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, located and arrested BERNAL. In 2001, BERNAL was convicted in Bexar County of Unlawful Carrying a Weapon. In May 2014, he was convicted in Wilson County for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Indecency with a Child by Exposure involving a 9-year-old girl. BERNAL subsequently received 5 years’ probation. In December 2014, his probation was revoked, and he was sentenced to 4 years of confinement in TDCJ prison. BERNAL had been wanted since March 2026, after a warrant was issued out of Bexar County for his arrest for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements.BERNAL’s arrest was not from tip information received through Texas Crime Stoppers, so no reward will be paid.
