Jerry NEISS, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender, was captured on February 13, 2023, in Bowie, Texas.Working off investigative information, DPS Special Agents, along with the Montague County Sheriff’s Office and Bowie Police Department, located and arrested NEISS. The Wichita Falls Police Department also assisted in the multi-agency fugitive investigation.In 2019, NEISS was convicted of Indecency with a Child by Contact after an incident involving a 13-year-old girl and subsequently sentenced to 2-years of confinement.NEISS had been wanted since October 26, 2021, after the Montague County Sheriff’s Office issued warrants for his arrest for two counts of Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements. An additional Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements warrant was issued on October 6, 2022.NEISS’ arrest was not from tip information received through Texas Crime Stoppers.
