Paul BASALDUA, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive affiliated with the Latin Kings, was arrested on October 6, 2022, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Working off investigative information, members of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Fugitive Task Force, including DPS Special Agents, coordinated with the U.S. Marshals Southern Iowa Fugitive Task Force to locate and arrest BASALDUA in Council Bluffs. The Council Bluffs Police Department assisted in the arrest.In 2009, BASALDUA was convicted of Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana and sentenced to 37 months in federal prison. In 2012, he was sentenced to 18 months of confinement after he was convicted of Burglary of a Building. In 2017, he was convicted of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and sentenced to five years of confinement.BASALDUA had been wanted since August 2021, after the McAllen Police Department issued a warrant for his arrest for Aggravated Sexual Assault. Additionally, in July 2022, the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office issued warrants for his arrest for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact.BASALDUA’s arrest was not from tip information received through Crime Stoppers, so no reward will be paid.
