Joaquin SALGADO, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender, was taken into custody on April 6, 2022, after turning himself in at the Dimmit County Sheriff’s Office.In 2010, SALGADO was convicted of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and Sexual Assault after separate incidents involving a 13-year-old girl and 22-year-old female. He was given two 8-year sentences to run concurrently in TDCJ. In 2019, he was arrested by the US Border Patrol for Smuggling Aliens and sentenced to federal prison.SALGADO had been wanted since August 24, 2021, after the Ennis Police Department issued a warrant for his arrest for Assault Causing Bodily Injury; and on September 7, 2021, the US Marshals Service issued a warrant for Probation Violation. On December 20, 2021, the Dimmit County Sheriff’s Office issued misdemeanor warrants for his arrest for Assault Causing Bodily Injury, Terroristic Threat, and Unlawful Restraint. In addition, on March 23, 2022, the Texas DPS Criminal Investigations Division issued felony warrants for his arrest for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements.SALGADO’s arrest was not from tip information received through Texas Crime Stoppers, so no reward will be paid.
