CAPTURE DETAILS:

Humberto ACOSTA, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender, was captured on January 31, 2023, in Mission, Texas. Working off investigative information, members of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Fugitive Task Force, along with U.S. Border Patrol, located and arrested ACOSTA.In 2020, ACOSTA was convicted of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child after an incident involving a four-year-old girl. He subsequently was sentenced to 10 years’ probation.ACOSTA had been wanted since December 3, 2020, after the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for his arrest for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. On December 23, 2020, the Alamo Police Department issued a warrant for his arrest for Possession of Child Pornography. In addition, on May 17, 2021, the Pharr Police Department issued a warrant for his arrest for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.ACOSTA’s arrest was not from tip information received through Texas Crime Stoppers, so no reward will be paid.
