CAPTURE DETAILS:

Freddie ALANIZ, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive, was taken into custody on February 26, 2018, in Mexico. Working off investigative information, the U.S. Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force – Del Rio Division, including DPS Special Agents, determined ALANIZ had fled to Mexico. Further investigation by the U.S. Marshals and Mexican authorities revealed he was located in the city of Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico, where he was arrested. ALANIZ was returned to the U.S. on February 27, 2018, and is currently being held in San Antonio. On February 7, 2006, ALANIZ was arrested in Zavala County for Sexual Assault of a Child. He made bail and did not appear for trial. Two days later, he was arrested for Aggravated Assault in San Antonio for allegedly stabbing a male victim during a fight. He again made bail and fled.In May 2006, the Zavala County SO issued a warrant for ALANIZ's arrest for Sexual Assault of a Child. In August 2006, the Bexar County SO issued a warrant for Murder after ALANIZ's assault victim died as a result of his injuries.The arrest was not the result of a tip received through Crime Stoppers, so no reward will be paid.
