James Lee KIRBY, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive, was captured on July 17, 2026, in Southeastern Oklahoma. Working off investigative information, members of the U.S. Marshals Eastern District Fugitive Task Force in Oklahoma, located and arrested KIRBY. Multiple other agencies assisted with this investigation, including, the U.S. Marshals Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, U.S. CBP, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), Bryan Co. Sheriff’s Office, and Grayson Co. Sheriff’s Office.On November 5, 2024, KIRBY was arrested in Grayson Co. for Aggravated Sexual Assault. Subsequently, he posted bond several weeks later and was released from jail. In early 2026, KIRBY was on GPS monitoring while on Pre-Trial Release stemming from charges out of Bryan Co., Oklahoma, for 1st Degree Rape and Incest. Immediately prior to the trial date, KIRBY’s GPS monitoring device ceased operating and he absconded from the area. KIRBY had been wanted since February 2, 2026, after a warrant was issued out of Bryan Co., for his arrest for Failure to Appear (1st Degree Rape and Incest). On June 2, 2026, a warrant was issued out of Grayson Co. for KIRBY’s arrest for Aggravated Sexual Assault and Sexual Assault.
