Armando Adan SOTELO, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive, was detained by Mexican Authorities on July 30, 2026, in the State of Chihuahua in Mexico. On July 31, 2026, SOTELO was extradited to the U.S. where he was turned over to U.S. Law Enforcement Authorities. The U.S. Marshals Service coordinated with Mexican Authorities to locate and detain SOTELO. SOTELO had been wanted since May 2024, after warrants were issued out of Reeves County for his arrest for Terroristic Threat and Unlawful Carrying In June 2024, the Pecos Police Department issued warrants for his arrest for Robbery and Agg. Assault w/Deadly Weapon. In August 2024, Hobbs Police Department (New Mexico) issued warrants for SOTELO’s arrest for three (3) counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children and two (2) counts of Criminal Sexual Penetration. In September 2024, Lea County Sheriff’s Office (New Mexico) issued a Probation Violation warrant for his arrest. Additionally, in April 2025, the US District Court for the Western District of Texas issued federal arrest warrants for his arrest for Sexual Exploitation of Children and Distribution of Child Pornography. SOTELO’s capture was the result of tip information received through Texas Crime Stoppers, so a reward was paid.
