Reynaldo MATA-RIOS is a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive with ties to Hidalgo County, including the cities of McAllen and Pharr.On December 28, 2025, a warrant was issued by the McAllen Police Department for MATA-RIOS’ arrest for the murder of Eddy Betancourt, who was found deceased the day prior on December 27, 2025. Betancourt was the vice chairman of the Hidalgo County Appraisal District Board of Directors. He was appointed by Governor Abbott to serve on the Texas Facilities Commission.MATA-RIOS is believed to have crossed into Mexico on December 28, 2025.
