Joey Ray GONZALEZ, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender, was captured on September 24, 2024, in Houston, Texas. Working off investigative information, DPS Special Agents, including Special Agents from the Computer Information Technology and Electronic Crimes (CITEC) Unit, located and arrested GONZALEZ. DPS Highway Patrol Troopers assisted with the fugitive investigation.In 2007, GONZALEZ was convicted of Sexual Assault of a Child following an incident with a 14-year-old girl and subsequently sentenced to 3 years confinement in prison. In 2012, he was convicted of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and subsequently sentenced to 2 years confinement in prison.GONZALEZ had been wanted since February 2024, when a warrant was issued out of Harris County for his arrest for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements.GONZALEZ’s arrest was not from tip information received through Texas Crime Stoppers, so no reward will be paid.
