Margarito GARCIA, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender, was arrested on June 27, 2022, in Plainview, Texas. Working off investigative information, Plainview Police Department officers located and arrested GARCIA at a residence.In 1986, GARCIA was convicted of Burglary and given a three-year sentence. The following year, he was convicted of Escape and was given another three-year sentence to run concurrently. In 1989, he was convicted of Sexual Assault after an incident involving a 33-year-old woman. He was sentenced to 15 years of confinement. In 2011, GARCIA was given a 25-year sentence after a conviction of Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements. He was released on parole in August 2020.GARCIA had been wanted since June 2021, after the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles issued a warrant for GARCIA’s arrest for Parole Violation. Additionally, in August 2021, the Ector County Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for his arrest for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements with a Previous Conviction.GARCIA’s arrest was not from tip information received through Crime Stoppers, so no reward will be paid.
