On May 14, 2018, Andrew BELMONTES, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive, was taken into custody after turning himself in at the Starr County Sheriff’s Office in Rio Grande City, Texas.BELMONTES, affiliated with the Texas Chicano Brotherhood gang, is a violent offender with a history of aggravated assault, burglary, and drug charges.In 2014, BELMONTES was convicted in Starr County of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (two counts). He was released on parole from TDCJ in June 2017.BELMONTES had been wanted since September 2017 for Parole Violation (Original Offenses: Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon x2).The arrest was not the result of tip information received through Texas Crime Stoppers, so no reward will be paid.
