Carlos Venegas ORTIZ, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrant from Mexico, was captured on April 9, 2025, in Haltom City, Texas. Working in coordination with Special Agents from DPS' Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Haltom City Police Department Officers, along with members of the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force, located and arrested ORTIZ at an apartment complex.ORTIZ entered the United States in April 2005. Since 2008, he has been arrested in Tarrant County for Assault Causes Bodily Injury to a Family Member and Driving While Intoxicated/Open Alcohol Container.ORTIZ had been wanted since October 2024, after a warrant was issued out of Tarrant County for his arrest for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Young Child. ORTIZ's arrest was the result of tip information received through Texas Crime Stoppers, so a reward was paid.
