Heather Ann Willms, a 21-year-old white female, was a 2001 graduate of O'Connor High School. She had attended college at San Antonio College and Texas Lutheran University. She had five siblings and was well-liked by many friends. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Helotes. On Monday, 02-21-2005, Heather failed to show up for work as a waitress at Champs Americana Restaurant. Her friends subsequently located her inside her residence in Leon Valley during the early morning hours of Tuesday, 02-22-2005. Heather had been brutally murdered.
UPDATE: On 11/30/2016, after a lengthy investigation, José B Flores III, 36, was arrested for the Capital Murders of Heather Willms and another victim. Texas Rangers worked closely with officials from the Leon Valley PD and the Bexar County District Attorney to solve this case.
UPDATE: On 07/25/2022, José B. Flores III, pled guilty in Bexar County District Court #437, to the murder of Heather Willms and Esmeralda Herrera. Flores was sentenced to 2 life sentences to be served consecutively.
This conviction marks the end of a lengthy Texas Ranger investigation.
