DETAILS:

On 01/30/2012, James Anthony Staples, 42, was found stabbed to death inside his mobile home in the City of Devine, in Medina County. Texas Rangers and Devine PD officers investigated. Staples was killed by multiple stab wounds. The investigation revealed several frequent visitors to the home, however, ultimately the case went cold for lack of further leads.

In August 2020, Texas. Rangers re--investigated the case. Working with the Divine PD investigators, the investigation was completely re-examined. Lee Taylor emerged as the primary suspect. Investigators interviewed Taylor and gathered sufficient evidence to charge him for the murder of James Staples. On 10/22/20, Lee Taylor was arrested for the murder of James Staples.

All persons are considered innocent until convicted in a court of law.
