DETAILS:

On August 8, 1993, the body of Bobbie Ann Fields-Wilson, 37, was found lying near Keele Avenue in Lubbock. A family, walking together, discovered the remains. The investigation revealed that Fields was the victim of a homicide. Investigation revealed that Bobbie was last seen near the Rose Hotel in the early morning hours of August 7. The Lubbock Police Department investigated the case, but it stalled for lack of evidence and leads.

The Texas Rangers, working in conjunction with the Department of Justice, identified Samuel Little, now 79 years old, as a suspect in this case. Little is a confessed serial killer, and convicted felon, who recently began confessing to his crimes and providing details and locations of the murders. The Lubbock PD Cold Case unit joined the investigation. On August 28, 2019, Sam Little was indicted for the murder of Bobbie Ann Fields-Wilson. Little is in custody in California.

Before he could be brought to trial in Texas for this offense, Sam Little died while serving a life sentence in a California prison. Little died on December 30, 2020.
